We found ourselves this afternoon without anything that required our attention.
Homework was done.
No practice or lessons on the schedule.
After days upon days of clouds, we walked out of school to bright sunshine and warm temps.
The kids and I stopped by the house, threw on bathing suits and grabbed towels,
and headed south toward the water.
Dan followed as soon as he got off work,
Eno in hand.
We stayed until dark,
and our souls were all lighter on the way home.
We had popcorn and apples for dinner,
and laughed until our sides hurt.
The kids were up way too late,
and now I am, too.
It was worth every sun-kissed minute.
