Happy 9th Birthday, Lana!

Lana's one request for her birthday was for a new room.
When we moved in our house 4 years ago,
this butterfly mural was already done,
and she loved it.

Lots changes from 5 to 9,
and she wasn't digging the purple and butterflies anymore.

So we made arrangements for the kids to spend Lana's birthday week at our church's summer day camp, and moved her into the guest room on Sunday night.

Then we got to work on Operation Renovation!

After 4 days of burning the candle at both ends,
her room was transformed:

This morning when she woke up,
we let her in to see her birthday surprise!

There were so many special things that she really loved.
Her Nana made the new curtains for her -
she makes the best window treatments ever.
We are so spoiled with how well they block out the light!

The dresser and desk were a gift
from her beloved 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Celis.

The bed was a gift from our precious friends Jon & Ashley Andrews.

She loved the display for her swim ribbons that my friend Betti made,
and the bulletin board for her pictures,
and the white shelves that my dear friend Liz sent
were perfect for displaying her animal collection.

After enjoying her new room

we had cake for breakfast (with eggs and sausage on the side),
she headed to camp to celebrate with her friends:

After camp,
my mom was here waiting on her to wish her a happy birthday!

She requested hibachi at Tokyo for her birthday dinner:

Tucker couldn't remember having eaten hibachi before,
so he was quite enthralled with the experience.
He loved all the "tricks;" he did NOT love the fire.

I think she had a wonderful day and felt loved!
She could hardly wait to go to sleep in her new room.
