34 things that make me happy on my 34th birthday, in no particular order

  1. Jesus, walking closer to Him each day, never needing Him less, only more and more.
  2. my health: I ran 3 miles this morning before the sun was fully up.
  3. my birthday twin, who also happens to be the great love of my life.
  4. two beautiful, healthy, smart, charming children.
  5. Hillcrest Church, because these past 4 months have felt quite a lot like coming home.
  6. my Sunday morning Connect Group.  We are beginning this study.
  7. BSF: the life of Moses this year, the book of Revelation next year.
  8. essential oils
  9. the kind of mama who hides birthday gifts under my bed to find today
  10. spring, warm weather, Easter.  Do not abandon yourselves to despair; we are the Easter people and Hallelujah is our song.  (Pope John Paul 11)
  11. living on Pensacola beach
  12. friends and neighbors who are like family
  13. the children's ministry at Hillcrest: Melinda, Monica, Amy, all the leaders, the whole crew
  14. Pepper the beagle, cuddled close to me while I make this list
  15. my navy Land's End blanket, 100% cotton and just pure comfort to me.
  16. Tucker's "soft kisses"
  17. prepping for a week at the beach with a heart friend and her children
  18. promises fulfilled from the Lord: The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD Almighty.
  19. blackberry-on-the-bottom Chobani
  20. an hour of quiet, in the house alone
  21. skinny iced white mocha
  22. Google celebrating my birthday!  Does your google look like this today?!
  23. Not having to cook tonight!  The hardest part is choosing between boiled crawfish at home or dinner out at Five Sisters or McGuire's!
  24. Woodwick candles
  25. library books
  26. People magazine
  27. singing hymns from the pew on Sunday morning, with my children beside me
  28. my co-teaching job: it's quite possibly my favorite job I've ever had
  29. reading with Lana at night
  30. salt and vinegar potato chips
  31. college students that give me hope for this generation
  32. a simple life
  33. my children's teachers: Mrs. Celis, Mrs. Lisa, Mrs. Lottie
  34. another day.
Psalm 118:19-24
Open to me the gates of righteousness,
    that I may enter through them
    and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord;
    the righteous shall enter through it.
I thank you that you have answered me
    and have become my salvation.
The stone that the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone.[b]
This is the Lord's doing;
    it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
    let us rejoice and be glad in it.
