Tucker's new love: audio books

Like most families at our stage of life, we spend quite a bit of time in the car.
We're fortunate to live within 5 minutes of our school and church,
but there's swim team and errands and grocery store runs and family adventures.....
and the littlest Davis is often along just for the ride.

For Christmas, we gave Tucker (as his "something to read") several books on cd.
Most of them were short picture books, but I threw in one long one:
C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

I wasn't sure how it would go over, but I stuck it in the car one day, and he was hooked.
Refused to listen to music anymore, only wanted to listen to "one more chapter, please!"
He sat still as a mouse in the car as we listened to it, and would talk later about what he had heard.
Amazing!

After we finished that chronicle of Narnia, we raided the local public library, and found a treasure trove of amazing chapter books to listen to!

So far, in addition to the one he got for Christmas, we have also listened to:
Charlotte's Web
Johnny Tremaine
Peter Pan

currently we are listening to
The Tale of Despereaux

and we have waiting
Annie
Hatchet
The Cricket in Times Square

Here are some lists we will pull from as we discover what we want to listen to next:

Tucker is becoming a bibliophile in a different way than his sister did, but this makes so much sense, as he is clearly an auditory learner already!  We are excited to enjoy lots of books together this way, including the classics, sometime very soon!

Any suggestions we should add to our list to listen to?

Edited to add: I love this article on helping boys love to read.
